Before the thorns taught me their sharp lessons and bled weakness from me I had but one brother, and I loved him well.
Prince of Thorns is the powerful first volume in The Broken Empire trilogy, a dark, original epic fantasy. Once a privileged royal boy, Jorg Ancrath watched his mother and brother murdered before him — an act that twisted his heart and set him on a brutal path. Now he leads a grim band of outlaws that pillages its way across the chaotic remains of the Broken Empire, and he will stop at nothing to claim power and a future for himself. Treachery, magic, and violence shape his journey backward toward his father’s castle, where more horrors — and his greatest challenges — await.
